Charlene Emory-Proctor is the Assistant Director of Programs. She joined HERS in July 2023 and is responsible for logistics and event planning for all HERS programs. This includes managing program sites, scouting locations, and managing both in-person and virtual events while acting as the on-site lead and primary liaison for all vendors and facilities. She also communicates with people registered for HERS programs to share logistical information and to help onboard all participants.

During her ten years in the corporate world, Charlene was able to refine her skillsets in project management, event planning, and program management with the goal of transitioning to the non-profit space to help people build their professional skillsets. She has planned everything from panel discussions, conferences, and golf tournaments for various non-profits. She has also produced documentaries, podcasts, and short films.

Her undergraduate degree is in communications with a concentration in broadcast journalism from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) and her master’s degree is in international relations with an emphasis in political ethics and a graduate certificate in social justice from Harvard University. She lives in Denver, CO with her partner Jason and two cats Miso and Kobe. She loves board games, camping, and traveling; she’s been to 29 countries, 38 states, and all 7 continents!
