Equity-Minded Leadership Series
This intensive workshop series is designed to equip you to develop the skills needed to translate institutional values and aspirations into tangible actions that close equity gaps in policies, practices, experiences, and outcomes among groups that have been historically excluded, marginalized, and underserved. The series will offer a highly engaging, fast-paced opportunity to learn, share, reflect and practice skills for equity-minded leadership.
As institutions strive to live into their mission and core values on diversity, equity, and inclusion – ensure you are prepared to effectively meet the evolving needs of the workplace. Honing a racial equity lens requires evidence-based analysis, alignment with institutional priorities, and intentional planning to dismantle longstanding structural barriers.

Curriculum
The curriculum is robust, substantive, and designed to develop leadership strategies predicated on racially equitable tenets and practices. Weekly objectives, pre-reading assignments, and content will enrich the learning and prepare participants to advance racial equity on their campuses. Participants will be expected to complete pre-work before each session, submit reflections following sessions, and develop a racial equity plan. Those who complete and submit all assignments will receive the HERS Centering Racial Equity Leadership certificate.
Who Should Attend
This session is open to all leaders in higher education, regardless of gender. Those leaders who are in mid- and senior-level positions will best benefit from the program. This program is aimed at those who are interested in integrating racial equity into all components of their leadership and developing strategies to do so. To maximize the learning and impact, we recommend institutions send teams of participants.
